Self-Archiving Policy

Authors may deposit the following versions of their works in institutional, subject-based or national repositories without any embargo period. For long-term preservation of the journal’s content, see “Preservation and Archiving” in About the Journal.

Copyright: Authors retain copyright and patrimonial rights over their works. They may deposit the submitted version (preprint), the accepted manuscript (postprint) and the published version (version of record, VoR) in the repositories of their choice. There are no fees or embargoes for self-archiving.

Permitted versions:

  1. Submitted version (preprint): may be archived in any repository or platform, provided that it is indicated that the article was submitted to Esfera Pública. Journal on Governance and Society.
  2. Accepted manuscript (postprint): may be deposited once accepted for publication. A statement indicating acceptance by Esfera Pública. Journal on Governance and Society must be included.
  3. Published version (VoR): the final published version, as it appears on the journal’s website, may be shared and archived immediately after publication.

All deposited versions must indicate the CC BY 4.0 licence, include the full citation and DOI where applicable, acknowledge Esfera Pública. Journal on Governance and Society as the original place of publication and link to the official version on the journal’s website: https://esferapublica.mx

This licence allows users to copy, distribute, adapt, transform and build upon the material in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and to Esfera Pública. Institutional repositories of the authors’ affiliated institutions; subject-based or national open access repositories; academic repositories relevant to the social sciences, public administration, governance, public policy and studies on society and public space.

Note: Indexing platforms or regional catalogues are not necessary for self-archiving and, where applicable, are listed separately on the journal’s indexing page.
